Since 1915 the U. S. Coast Guard enlisted members have served our nation as a part of the best military organization. The Coast Guard Recruit Training Alumni takes its name from the Long Blue Line of Men and Women who completed Coast Guard boot camp at the Training Centers in Alameda and Cape May.
Our Alumni exists to build a network to serve as a resource for Training Center Cape May’s recruit training mission. We seek to harness the power of those of us who have served and wish to honor the life lessons our boot camp experience provided.
WE SERVE OUR ALUMNI
We will deliver high-quality member service by establishing a robust network of current and former Alumni across the world. It is our affinity group, a community of people with a common experience: a love for our service, and a passion for its future. The CGRTA will support and facilitate alumni-related activities and services in Cape May, the Coast Guard’s hometown, and around the country and continue to engage and encourage non-supporters, enlisted members, friends and family to maintain their connection to their fellow alumni, the Training Center, the CGRTA, and the Coast Guard.
WE SUPPORT THE TRACEN
The CGRTA will directly support initiatives to increase the Coast Guard Training Center’s overall recruit experience, enhancing returning alumni as well as those that elevate the TRACEN’s reputation. The primary means of CGRTA support will be to raise and provide funds for programs across the many missions of the TRACEN.
We have partnered together with the Coast Guard Foundation to advance our mission to enhance the infrastructure, equipment, and supplies in support of academic, physical fitness, and training functions of recruit training at Training Center Cape May.
We will also coordinate with and support other organizations that seek to raise the visibility of the TRACEN and the Coast Guard.
WE STRENGTHEN BONDS
The CGRTA now exists to build this network, connect alumni, and to serve as a resource for Training Center Cape May’s recruit training mission. We see great power and potential in this Alumni to bring together those of us who have served and remember the life lessons that our boot camp experience and careers have provided. The CGRT Alumni group will use the passion for mentorship and leadership of our alumni to provide a helping hand and guiding force for our future leaders, who will embark on the next phase of their lives after their time in recruit training.
